What is Art Engineering?

Art Engineering is the discipline deployed by the creative mind to accomplish goals using both a left and right brain approach. The result can be purely artistic, purely pragmatic or both.

The Background of My Thesis Under Development:

Causal Factors Timeline:

  • In 1825 the first Photo Picture is taken by a French inventor Joseph Niepce.

  • In 1839 Louis Daguerre captured a shoe-shiner and a patron on Paris’ Boulevard du Temple in Paris with the first mirror-image photograph. Historically, these are the first people to ever be photographed.

  • In 1841, John Goffe Rand a portrait painter invented and patented the first collapsible paint tube for artist.

  • In 1872, Claude Monet paints Impression Sunrise considered by many as the first impressionist painting.

  • April 15 ,1874, The first Impressionist exhibition included art by the French artists Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro and Berthe Morisot; considered by most art historians as a direct assault on the Académie des Beaux-Arts, the Salon and the rules of western art going back for nearly 400 years to the Italian renaissance and Giorgio Vasari: this exhibition had long-lasting repercussions on art and Art Academism.

The Thesis Under Development:

The development of photography and the mass production of art supplies had a huge influence on the divergences of academics relating to art, science, engineering and architecture. Artistic Modernity may have had social and political overtones, but technology and industrialization also contributed to the art/science schism. This resulted in a departure from methodical, mathematical, anatomical, and other science and engineering approaches associated with Art Academism and Modern Art Philosophy.
